TOP Soccer Club

Competitive League & Festival Teams

TOSL/District/IModel

Starting with the Outdoor 2026 season, TOP Soccer will introduce an enhanced competitive pathway at the U13+ age group for Boys and Girls. Our new Competitive Program will be split into two streams:

  • League Teams: providing an increased level of competition and commitment, our League Team will run from Mid-April to the end of October with a two-week summer blackout period. U13 teams will compete in the TOSL League, and U14+ teams will compete in the District League. Full commitment is required for this team.
  • Festival Teams: providing a flexible commitment with quality coaching, games, and tournaments, our Festival Team will run from mid-April to late October with no commitments during July & August. U13 teams will play in the TOSL with occasional games on Saturdays, and U14+ teams will play a strictly festival/tournament schedule.

Team Selection: for U13 teams, open development sessions will take place each Fall for the following Outdoor season. For U14+ teams, tryouts will take place in early October for the following season. Teams will be selected based on previous playing experience, skill level, family philosophy, and general program fit. In the event there are enough players to form multiple teams per stream (ie. 2x Competitive League teams), we will create tiered teams.

FAQs

Common Questions

How are teams selected? Are there tryouts?

At U13, open development sessions will take place each Fall for the following Outdoor season. For U14+ teams, formal tryouts will take place in the Fall for the following season. Teams will be selected based on previous playing experience, skill level, family philosophy, and general program fit. In the event there are enough players to form multiple teams per stream (ie. 2x Competitive League teams), we will create tiered teams (ie. Tier 1 & Tier 2).

What League do Competitive teams play in? How many games per season?

League U13 teams play in the TOSL League, a local league based in the GTA and operated by the Toronto Soccer Association. U14+ teams play in the District League operated by the Toronto Soccer Association, playing 20-22 games per season.

Are players required to purchase uniforms?

Yes, each two years TOP Soccer players are required to purchase our Adidas player kit, which includes 2-3 game jerseys, 1x shorts, 1x socks, custom Adidas tracksuit, and custom Adidas backpack.

Do you offer year-round programs?

As part of our commitment to multi-sport development, our programs follow a seasonal schedule and we do not mandate training in the off-season. For players who are interested in extra training, we offer optional programs in the summer and winter months, however attendance at these programs has no bearing on selection to a TOP Soccer team.
