A Balanced Competitive Soccer Program

Club Overview

From Recreational Programs for our youngest players to Academy and Competitive Teams, TOP Soccer delivers a development-first soccer experience led by passionate, professional coaches who care about the long-term success of your child. We do things differently so families get high-level soccer without the overcommitment that usually comes with it.

Every TOP Soccer program features qualified, non-parent coaches, supported by a full-time Technical Director and a full-time administrative team. Sessions follow our PLAY • TEACH • COMPETE model, with lots of touches, small-sided games, and real decision-making. All programs run at premier local facilities in Midtown Toronto, including De La Salle College School, The Bishop Strachan School, and St. Michael's College School.

Our seasons run on a set schedule, so you know your weekly commitment before the season starts. Our summers-off model gives families their summers back, with optional clinics for players who want extra touches. The schedule is built to fit alongside TOP Hockey and TOP Lacrosse, so kids can stay multi-sport athletes, the way long-term player development recommends.

What Makes TOP Soccer Different

Professional, Qualified, Non-Parent Coaches

Every TOP Soccer team and program is led by paid professional coaches, many of whom have League1, OPDL, Collegiate, and NCAA playing and coaching experience. Our coaches are NCCP certified and follow a club-wide, game-based curriculum aligned with Ontario Soccer and Canada Soccer long-term player development principles. Coaches are overseen by Technical Director Tom Waud, who also leads coach development across TOP Sports, so the coaching standard is consistent from our youngest recreational players through our competitive teams.

Common Questions

Who coaches TOP Soccer programs?

Every team and program is led by a paid, professional, non-parent coach. Our coaches are NCCP certified, follow a club-wide curriculum, and are supported by our full-time Technical Director and administrative staff.

How is TOP different from a traditional club?

We run set seasonal schedules with consistent weekly times, use professional coaches instead of parent volunteers, keep all programming at local Midtown facilities, and give families their summers back.

Do players have to play soccer all summer?

No. Our summers-off model means there's no mandatory summer commitment. Players who want extra development can join our optional Summer Clinics at De La Salle.

Where do programs run?

All programs run at premier Midtown Toronto facilities: De La Salle College School, The Bishop Strachan School, and St. Michael's College School. Keeping everything local is a deliberate choice to cut weeknight travel for families.

Can my child play other sports?

Yes. Our set schedules are built to avoid conflicts with TOP Hockey and TOP Lacrosse, so families can plan multiple sports, lessons, and activities without constant scheduling clashes.

My child has never played before. Where do they start?

Our Recreational Programs for ages 4 to 12 are built for beginners. No tryout or experience is needed. From there, players can move into Pre-Academy, Academy Teams, and Competitive Teams as they develop.
