Outdoor Skills Program
Program Overview
The TOP Hockey Outdoor Skills program provides a perfect next-step for beginner players that are looking for more. This program will continue to improve players skills in a fun and engaging environment, with the goal of moving to the U7 Development program for the following season.
Our coaches focus on athletic literacy (agility, balance, coordination), hockey fundamentals (striding, turning, stopping, passing, shooting), and gameplay (spacing, teamwork, decision-making). The program features 25-minutes of skill development, followed by 25-minutes of gameplay.

What Equipment Do I Need?
All players must wear full hockey equipment: CSA-approved helmet with cage, neckguard, skates, gloves, shoulder and elbow pads, jock/jill, pants, shin pads, socks, and a stick.
Who Is Eligible?
This is not a Learn-to-Skate program. Players should be able to get up independently, move on skates without assistance, feel comfortable on the ice without a parent, and be able to move around the ice without support.
Can I Register For Two Clubs?
Per Hockey Canada rules, players may only be registered with one sanctioned organization per season. Your Hockey Canada Registry number ensures you aren’t double-registered. Skating clubs, hockey schools, and private lessons do not count.
